Smoke from burning coconut husks gets rid of mosquitoes and that is what we woke up to. Our security guard had four or five buckets smoldering around the perimeter of the restaurant. The mosquitoes were pretty bad when we got up but our hammocks had protected us during the night. We said our good-byes to the guard and were on the road again.

The scenery driving through Puerto Vallarta was nice but again there is to much traffic and to many tourists.

Once outside the tourist are we stopped and got a torta. $15 pesos.

It was high season for the Mexican tourist in Manzanillo. There was no parking near the beach so we had to walk in.

The beaches were packed. Not much room to move.

We stayed for a few beers and dismissed this place as an option for spending the night.

Through the haze, you could see the smoke rising from the volcano as we approached Colima. My photos didn't come out. Colima is a nice clean town. I could live here if I liked big cities. We drove around and checked out a few hotels before settling on one for $180 pesos a night.

Our room actually had three rooms and a washroom. We even had a full size refrigerator and television.

I first saw this type of shower head in Belize. It's a good idea but the way they wire it up in Mexico leaves a lot to be desired. It gives you all the instant hot water you need. In Belize they were $28 US and in Mexico they are $32 US.

I had to take a photo of our fan.

Right down from the hotel was a small seafood place. We had a couple of shrimp cocktails for $50 pesos each before retiring for the night.
