Yes someone else is here. I'll begin with how much we love Tulum and the coast. We stayed at Cabanas Tulum on our first visit in Dec.2002. It was a great place, good food, not quite the rustic feel of some of the other places but very nice. We walked the beach both directions stopping for food and drink when needed otherwise just enjoyed the sun, seculsion and sand. We visited some of the other resorts along the way and would probably stay at a different place next time. Like Copal or Zamas we like the atmosphere and styly there. We planned on a return trip in spring of 2004 but was offered an expence paid 7 night trip to Aruba in April. Had a great time probably will not go back. Then planned another trip this Nov. 2005 to PDC and Tulum and again was offered a trip to Maui with friends, we were really torn between PDC and Maui. It wasnt until last Saturday we decided on Maui with them good price on air and Condo and rental car paid for, just couldnt turn it down. Now again we are wanting to go to PDC / Tulum for 10 DAYS in April 2006. Guess we should start to plan and save. Anyway I never recommend the area to anyone I want it to stay as small as possable. Whenever I hear new resorts being built and cant help but imagine its only time and Tulum will have some large AI resorts Yikes...

Mike, I knew you would be around if you weren't doing the work thing..look forward to seeing you post!

Dcap..I always wanted to do Hawaii, until I found Tulum..now, I give a bit of thought to Jamaica, or Hawaii, and even Puerto Rico, which I love, but, always come back to dear Mexico! I thought about going To PV, seeing the pacific coast, but, I just can't tear myself away from the Carribbean and Tulum.

I am like you, I never really recommend Tulum as a vacation destination..just like I don't share my secrets about low cost accomodations and airfare..lol..I am selfish enough to want those to be there when I need them.

But, today, I am making an exception..For very reasonable accomodations in PDC, as long as you don't mind walking a couple of blocks to the beach,

They have a great studio that is so very reasonable. A travel agent buddy here in KY turned me on to them. He stays there whenever he is in PDC.

Looks like a nice place. There are so many off the beaten path hotels around Playa that are good prices and offer alot of comforts. What are the rates on this place? We also like a rooftop sundeck or pool, there are several around there but havent stayed at one yet. Dave

$60 for the suite, accomodates 4, per night
standard room is $33

I like it because it is a little jungle oasis in the middle of town, close by to the action, but quiet cause it is off the main avenida. I am always looking for places that have kitchenettes, that helps keep the cost down..we usually only eat out one meal..if they include breakfast, we eat lunch out, and usually do something simple for dinner a few nights, in our room, and have a really nice dinner a couple of nights out.

You're not talking to yourself Gail, I promise ;)

Traffic to the site is steadily increasing and should continue in that direction. We certainly have plans for this domain including most of the features currently found on www.Playa.info (http://playa.info)

Thanks for all your enthusiastic participation! This is the ground floor of something really big.
