Best Day Ever

Has anyone ever heard that March 3rd is Tequila Day in Mexico? I got a calendar of hot sauces (go figure) and it is marked as an official holiday. Official or not, I think it is a FINE idea, and since I will be in Tulum on that very day, I intend on celebrating.....................it is also a full moon, what an interesting combination!:cool:

I thought EVERY day was tequila day in Mexico!! I'm not a huge tequila drinker but when I do 'partake' I tend to drink the good sipping-stuff (not the crap they throw in margaritas). Always anejo, with brand preferences of Casa Herradura, Cazadores and 1800.

So Lee, do you not drink margaritas down there, or do you just specify the tequila you want in your margarita? I don't like junky tequila either, so I usually just pay more for decent stuff, on the rocks, no salt. Sometimes hard to convince a waiter/barman that you want the good stuff, but a bit of persistence pays off. :D

Sorry, nothing on the calendar for that week, but how about creating one? Firecop680 appreciation day sounds good to me..............March 10th? If you had your own holiday, maybe people would offer to buy you drinks??;)

Everytime I see the title of this thread, I get an image of Sponge Bob singing.."It's the Best Day Ever"...lol...grandson is a HUGE Spongebob fan..:D
Now, it's playing in my head over and over..and it has nothing to do with Tequila Day..unfortunately. :rolleyes:

I am designating today, Feb. 16th as my official "I want to go to Tulum Day"..actually everday is that official holiday for me..lol!

I usually stop at the little liquor store outside Puerto Morelos and buy my own bottle of Tequila..usually Don Julio, it tastes stronger in Mexico..lol..if I get a Margarita that isn't strong enough, I just add a little of my own.

Be sure to stop by Casa Cenote for an Apple Martini too..that's excellent!

When I drink the good stuff, I drink it straight. Great, aged tequila is perfect for slow sipping! http://www.33smiley.com/smiley2/humor/drunk/6.gif When I drink a margarita (rare) I usually don't care enough about the brand of tequila because the other flavors tend to mask good/bad quality of the alcohol.
