hi everyone,

i have been researching from the internet mostly using trip adviser to find the perfect place for our wedding

We have decided on Tulum as the beach is amazing and the perfect location for our beach wedding. But where?

we love the beach cabana's and think that it will fit perfectly with our simple small beautiful wedding. there is so much choice it is so difficult when i found this forum this looks perfect for advice.

we have 11 guests attending but not all necessarily staying in the same place depending on price, we have 3 children coming with us who are staying between us and my parents. We are looking for somewhere to have our wedding with a restaurant for after and somewhere that we can stay up and have drinks as i know some places bar/social shut at 10pm also electricity.

I would like a mix of yes the simplistic staying on the beach in a cabana but with also reliable running water for showers (thinking of getting ready on wedding day) and reliable friendly staff to accommodate and help plan this from the UK.

can you help? :)

Welcome to our forum!!

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials!

First off ~ did you do a search on here and read about the weddings we have had? I know the most recent is Westybeachbum's if you want to search that.

There are lots of places that host weddings. I guess it all depends on your budget and where you feel best at. My first suggestions would be (and these are in no order of importance)
OM, La Luna, Nueva Vida de Ramiro, Cabanas Tulum (Ziggy Beach) and Ana Y Joses. These are also not the only ones, others will chime in with places to check out.

Oh, I forgot to ask when you are planning on doing this? Depending on the "season" (high, low, med) this can affect the costs. Just keep asking questions and hopefully we will have the answers.

You are going to be so happy you chose Tulum!

hi minniemex,

i did start to look around and typed in wedding in search.....found a couple of threads but new to this so that was all.

I haven't looked into a couple of places mentioned above so will get into that.

We are looking to go August, but open to change as long as in school holidays july-august / december / march-april. Preferably we would want July - august

We're on mid range budget, may of had more if we didn't have to get 5 of us inc.children flights!! so approx looking at £100/£120 a night, this obviously depends how much the wedding cost too.

thanks for your reply so quick

Well, July & August are hot months. How are you without a/c? And those in your wedding party??

If these are the months you do choose, this is the low season so pricing should be good.

Of the 3? La Zebra. Huge dancefloor on the beach, massive property, perfect beach. Slow season might be your preference as there won't be as many people around, guests won't be in a competition for taxis, you'll get better service, etc.

I haven't personally attended any weddings since I've been here so my suggestion was based solely on accomodations. I wish I had more to contribute, however, I must pass the microphone!

bride_to_be....

We are huge NVR fans. The wedding coordinators were will to do anything we wanted, we custom designed our ceremony and didn't get crazy on the cost. We wanted very much to stay on the beach so after the ceremony we walked up a stretch to OM. Angelo is amazing, creative and very very affordable.

My only thought is if you have a group of 11, you might get swallowed up at La Zebra. It is a less intimate setting and one better suited to larger groups. I don't know, I don't mean to sound critical because believe me, we LOVE La Zebra. I'm just envisioning a smaller more intimate setting. You should really look up my trip report, its dated April of this year, I'll try and post the link. There are pics of our 18 guests dancing our butts off at OM which we did after dinner until midnight. It was the most amazing party!!

Send me a PM if you want more info!!!
