Very excited to finally be able to post that our trip to Tulum is now official:o We will be arriving early December and staying at the Casita De Las Palmitas for one week. From what I have read, it is in a great area of the beach and close to many restuarants. I have seen pictures posted from 2009 on this site and was wondering if anyone had been there lately or have any pictures of the area in front. (I am aware of the Casa de Las Palmas being in front) I just want to say hi, and look forward to getting there!

Welcome to the forum!! So sorry it has taken so long ~ just a really busy time for me at work and personally.

You are going to love the casita! It is really a wonderful space and the owners, Bob & Bonnie couldn't be better!

There is also a rooftop area that is really nice! For some reason I didn't get any pictures of it!

Ooooh, Catcharay! Welcome and how exciting for you all! I have always been intrigued by the Casita. I don't know who all is going on your trip, but I've always imagined that it would be an ideal place for a little family. I know you're going to love Tulum!

Those pics were Minniemex's! I'll see if I can find the pics I took of the roof deck, which is spectacular, an amazing place to hang out and enjoy the evening and the beautiful sunsets over the jungle.

I've stayed here with my two teenage sons. There are two matresses that can be set up as beds or a seating area in addition to the double bed. It wasn't crowded at all with the 3 of us and the rooftop gives you a whole other living space. Plus it is fully walled so very safe for kids.

It's great having the kitchenette for breakfast.

Only thing would be nice was if there were 4 chairs at the beach for the casita as well as it's own boogie boards.

Thank you for your replies. There will only be the two of us (my husband and I), so room will not be a factor, two chairs is all we need too. We are very excited. The rooftop is where we want to have a dinner for our anniversary. There are so many things that we are wanting to do, but the best part will be the beach, and we plan to spend a lot of time just wandering up and down the beach, trying out the different restaurants and such. Has anyone been there in early December? We are hoping to catch some good music playing on a few of the evenings. Also did you find the casita cool enough being further back from the beach? In the big picture... we just are SO looking forward to this time to chill and are very happy with the property we selected. (Oh just got my maps delivered to work, now it will be really hard to stop daydreaming.)

In December it will be plenty cool in the casita plus there are two ceiling fans. I don't think you will have any issues with being to hot off the beach. We stayed there in April and while it was warm the fans were plenty to keep it cool.
