I am so glad to have found this forum! I was actually looking for pics of Nueva de Ramiro when I stumbled across you guys. I have learned so much already. We were so excited to have found a good deal at NVR, but now I am getting frustrated. At first Roger was great about emailing me back right away. I then asked him what was the best price they could give us for 6 nights (instead of 5) and he sent me a quote. I wrote him back to reserve our room (Alma del mar) and he writes back and makes it sound like his quote was a mistake....and it sounds like he isn't going to honor it?? I'm so disappointed and confused. I hope it is a misunderstanding and they will honor the price he gave me yesterday. Any words of advice?? It is during low season (9/25-10/1)....

Anyone else traveling during this time?

I can't really comment on whether Nueva will honor a quote or not ~ it could simply be an honest mistake. Maybe they figured the 5 days instead of 6? I think they will give you the best deal that they can.

Did he just write you back yesterday? I'd give him a day or two before worrying too much. It is low season and I do think they will give you the best deal possible. Alma del Mar is a very popular unit so perhaps his hesitation was more to do with whether that unit was available? You'll find out soon enough, don't worry.

If you are on Facebook, you might send Nueva Vida a friend request. They apparently have a FB deal, but it might only be for returning guests.

Well, it just got strange communicating with him. I had a quote in our correspondence and everytime I would bring up that quote he wouldn't directly answer my question as to WHY he wasn't honoring it. After several back and forth emails I decided to go with Cabanas Tulum. I am happy about this choice...my hubby was a little nervous about no a/c at night and we love the idea of having a full breakfast (since my husband can eat ALL he wants and not gain a pound :mad:). The price was right so we booked it!

Hmm, that's strange. But I'm glad you guys are happy about your new decision. Will you be staying in one of the new units at CT? (Will they be open yet?)

JunkyBurritos stayed there a little while ago, she did a great trip report and loved the place.

Nope...couldn't bear to pay an extra $56 a night for a little more modern setup...We are getting their regular beachfront.

Bummer about the mix up with NVR, usually it goes better than that, I'm sure there is an explaination.

YOu will also like CT, and we will be almost neighbors!

It is good to give people the option of AC if they think they need it, but do try to make him try a night with the nice breeze and the ocean sounds to lull him to sleep, that way he will know he can take it and that will open up a lot of other options for your NEXT trip down......ajajaja:p
