Hey Gang,

I was poking around www.TulumOnSale.com (http://www.TulumOnSale.com) daydreaming about which beachfront property I wanted to buy :D and noticed the Balche Restaurant in downtown Tulum is for sale...

If anyone wants to loan me the $90,000 I promise you'll get the best seat in the house whenever you show up! :D :D :D

You're both hired...now, if I can just get someone to wash dishes I think we're in business. Naturally, I'll bartend...ya gotta go with your strengths and I have DECADES of experience in this area (at least on the receiving side). :D

Can you wait until I quit my job and go to hotel/restaurant school? I would LOVE to buy that place--only thing better would be beachfront, but in town is certainly more sensible, hurricane-wise.

And $90K includes all the facilities? Wow. I wonder if they include upstairs living space with that. Hmmm.

Hey no problem Lee, washing dishes, sweeping floors hell I'll even do the toilets. Geesh I do all that right now anyway, but doing it in the sunshine would be awesome....move over girls we need another cot!!!!:D

Hey if it will save space..I'll hang a hammock!:D I don't have a problem with doing the books either..as long as I can remember the exchange rate!

Susan and Mike are next up for a Tulum Visit!

Exchange rate's easy, Gale, 10 to 1, isn't it? ;)

Has anyone eaten at this place before? I don't even recognize it--is it on 307?

I think the hardest job will be making sure Lee doesn't drink all the profits:D . Gale think you can handle that one as well, of course with us as back up

Heehee..I watched management measure the liquor in the bottles every couple hours when I stayed at Copal a couple of years ago..got a big kick out of that..they actually marked the bottles with white out...then calculated the drinks sold to make sure the help wasn;t "partaking" of the good stuff!:D :D

Doing a good inventory and a sturdy lock on the bar room door at night should do the trick don't ya think?;)

My question is, who's gonna watch me if I have the key?

On the serious side though, I have an idea for a business there..but have no idea of how to proceed with setting it up..if anyone knows the ins and outs of Mexican Business Law, I am all ears. All I know for sure at this point is that it wouldn't take much more than a small office space to set up.

With over twenty years of marketing experience, I can help with the promotion of the place. Now, I just have to figure out how to translate "Hey kids...do you know where mommy keeps her purse?". :D :D :D

HAHAHA! You have no idea how much sense that makes!:D :D :D Marketing would be welcomed and necessary.

I saw a post on here actually, someone asking a question..and when I researched I found that the service they asked for just didn't exist...at least not yet!

What service, Gale? Do tell! I promise if I fall in love with the idea and sell my house and run down to Mexico to start it before you get the chance, I'll give you all the credit. :D

I see that no one has even considered the most coveted position of all........... that of the sandwich board wearer! Yes, indeed I will stand in front of the restaraunt wearing a sign and dancing around waving. Of course, for the dancing and waving part, a frosty beverage may be in order. Can you seriously imagine what fun it would be to get everyone on this forum in the same spot?

Well now looks like we are all set, except for the pesos...Susan,. you might want to inspect those banos before you commit to cleaning them..lol!

I think this calls for a fact finding trip..gotta inspect the property! :D

Hey no problem...I am on it. What the heck I plan on renting a bike and tour around anyway, so will pop on by and scope out the place. On my way there I think I will stop off and buy a lottery ticket:D
