I had a really tough decision to make this morning, but I finally decided on Posada Lamar. It's more than twice what the new room at Hamaca Loca would cost ($130 vs. $55), but since it looks like I'm probably going to be traveling alone, I just felt that HL would be a little bit remote for me.

Lamar has lovely rooms (and much more room in case my friends can come at the last minute), but its proximity to Kin-Ha and Posada Margarita and the other places up in that area really sold me on it.

Now, I'll surely head down to Hamaca Loca and check out the rooms there if I can and I may rue my decision, but right now it feels pretty good.

So I'm really really going! I can't wait.

I need to adjust my ticker and post one here.

I think you made a great choice, especially without a car.

Thanks, guys. Yes, I'm going to try to do it without a car this year, see how it feels. I'm only in Tulum for five days, and I think I can walk to dinners and take taxis home in the dark if I get far enough from home (I do want to try Nacho's and Don Cafeto's this time).

I adjusted my ticker with my new arrival date, and it's only 29 days! Wow! Now I just need to lose 29 lbs. in 29 days. Possible? :D

I think you made a wise choice. Hamaca Loca is lovely but without a car would be very inconvenient! There's a bunch of great restaurants within walking distance and you may want to consider renting a bike for a day...a great way to explore the area without the expense and hassle of multiple cab rides.

I'll probably just be beachwalking this trip. It's only 5 days (so far, I might change that), so I plan on just hanging at home most of the time.

Thanks for the great tour of HL, Lee, looks great. I will definitely try them again next time if I can get beachfront, and especially if I have someone to share a romantic place like that with! :-)
