I have flown in the past 2 months, but I had to check baggage because of my length of stay? I have tried to email TSA this question and all I have gotten back is an automated reply. If my wife takes a purse, is she allowed to have a quart sized plastic bag in there as well as her carry-on bag? Thanks!

I'm not sure where you are flying from but I know in Canada you can't have any form of liquid or gel as carry on. My last trip I had to check my purse and put my lip balm and lip gloss in my checked bag or else they would of been confiscated at security. For me my carry on consists of my wallet, bathing suit, tank top, shorts and a book, that way if they lose my luggage I can still go striaght to the beach and worry about it there:D

Drom TSA website

What Can I Bring?
On Tuesday, September 26, TSA adjusted the ban on liquids, gels, and aerosols.

Air travelers may now carry liquids, gels and aerosols in their carry-on bag when going through security checkpoints.

With certain exceptions for prescription and over-the-counter medicines, baby formula and breast milk, and other essential liquids, gels, and aerosols, the following rules apply to all liquids, gels, and aerosols you want to carry through a security checkpoint.

All liquids, gels and aerosols must be in three-ounce or smaller containers. Larger containers that are half-full or toothpaste tubes rolled up are not allowed. Each container must be three ounces or smaller.
All liquids, gels and aerosols must be placed in a single, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag. Gallon size bags or bags that are not zip-top such as fold-over sandwich bags are not allowed. Each traveler can use only one, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag.
Each traveler must remove their quart-sized plastic, zip-top bag from their carry-on and place it in a bin or on the conveyor belt for X-ray screening. X-raying separately will allow TSA security officers to more easily examine the declared items.

Gale, thx for the update, last year I brought tons of sunscreen, body lotion, etc. in my carry on, guess I will have to stop @ Wal Mart in PDC for supplies, I have never checked my baggage in my life, it's too much trouble! We breezed thru Cancun airport in 20 minutes last year, I guess the green lights helped with that, but not having to retrieve luggage is a real timesaver, I am really ready to crawl out of my pasty white skin right now, I am so excited!!!!! 35 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!
