Where have you had them and how much did they cost? How did it rate?
I've had a couple at Ana y Jose which were OK, but they ran $75-$80/hr.

Gale (et. al),
Is there a good female masseuse at Maya Spa as well? Chris and I like to get our massages together, and I usually request a female for me. Yes, maybe sexist but hey, I'm on vacation.
Last year at Copal we got concurrent massages. I made my request and I got a very nice albeit old Mayan woman, while Chris had a strapping young Swedish hunk. . We still both had great massages.

When I was at Maya Spa last week, a Massage with Daniel started about $102.
I had a WONDERFUL massaage from Natalie there, in a jungle palapa for $73 for an hour. It was a really good massage (and I'm a physical therapist who DOES massage regularly).

One hour Thai or Swedish massage at the Shambala Petit is $60.
I honestly don't know the difference since I've never had one but trust me, I will find out!!!.

Generally, the Swedish massage is your traditional, rubyouallover massage. Thai massage involves body movement, where the therapist will actually take your leg and move it to stretch the muscles (as well as doing massage). The professionals can add more details to that very basic description, but I'm really looking forward to whatever Mexican massage I end up with on my next trip!

Come on folks, any reply to my above question? Sure, all you ladies can remember "Daniel" at Maya Tulum for his "strong hands" and great massages. Are there any recommendations on a good female maseusse?
I suppose a "couple's massage" is an option as well. We can both get done at the same time and take our noodley bodies back to the hotel. Also, the closer to Tita Tulum the better. Anything nearby there?
And no, felony, I can't pay for your return trip back to Tulum :p

You can always try this place. It's $65 an hour and offered to send 2 people to our hotel (if the hotel allowed it) or I'm sure you could go there.

We had a drink at Amansala's & they have a hut on the beach where they were giving massages - I did not have one, but the set up looked nice - & they are not too far from TT's - just a little further south -
The hut at right of picture is where they gave the massages -

I can't give you an answer Dan..the only massage I had was with Daniel, but I did have the Reiki treatment with Aljandra (sp) and she was wonderful..don't know if she does the massages too..she does the corn readings and more spiritual shamanic treatments.
Maybe you could contact Holly and ask her about who is on staff?
