Hey Gang,
A very quick howdy from our favorite paradise...Tulum!!:p We got into Cancun around 1pm on Thursday, stopped at PDC for supplies and lunch-drinks-pesos, and arrived at Tita Tulum for dinner and a well deserved sleep! Friday went to Muyil and walked the beaches. Today it was the Punta Laguna monkey reserve (AMAZING) and lunch in the small town of Nuevo Xcan. Not sure if tomorrow will be a Sian Kaan all-day tour or a trip to Valloladid.
See ya soon (that is if I return) ,

Hola yourself!!!! I'm so envious, but I'm sure I will be the subject of much envy in March. Hope your whole adventure will be as great as the begining seems to be! Did you rent a car in Cancun? How long was your trip from there to Tulum? Please continue to have a most amazing vacation, and let us all re-live it with you upon your return...................enjoy! Lianne

Yes, we rented with Buster Car Rental (an absolutely seamless experience) for 7 full days. A Chevy Monza, manual with AC, for about $238 including unlimited miles, insurance and all taxes. Straight through the trip takes an hour and 45 minutes in normal traffic and following the speed limits. There's more construction (and topes) around Akumal and depending when you go through PDC it could add a bit to your time. I didn't see much police or radar but they were out there occasionally.
I'll cover more in my trip report as we drove quite a bit...over 1,000 km!
