Well the dreaded flu has hit our household. All 3 of the kids are sick with horrible cough and some fever. I have little of the symptoms and hubby has none. Hoping this all clears up as we are living in just over a week. Been pumping us full of Vit C and echinancia so wish us luck.

Oh no!!! Hope you and your husband are also pumping the Vit C and all that good stuff, getting plenty of rest and keeping your fingers crossed!
I'm sure by the time you leave everyone will be feeling good again, and that sunshine will work wonders! :sun:

Yes we have been as well but as far as the sunshine goes the forecast is not looking to good. Anyone actually there can tell me if it is actually raining as much as it says it is?

Thinking good thoughts for you. Keep an eye on those kiddos, and read all the info you can on the CDC's website -- kids are really getting hit hard, and otherwise healthy kids are ending up hospitalized in many, many cases.
A lot of people think this is "just flu" and for most healthy adults it is, but especially for kids and some other folks it has been deadly. So be very very careful, wash your hands constantly, take the kids to the doctor/ER if you have any concerns (after reading the guidelines for that on your local health department website or CDC), cough into your arm and not your hand. I can get you links if you want/need them.
(can you tell I work for a health department??? haha)

My oldest son had the flu here for only two days. I'm not sure if my crazy natural remedies are what helped him, but I'd like to think they did.
As soon as he said he had a fever I gave him Oscillococcinum. I stocked up on this early on to always have it on hand and to take at the first tiny symptom.
Elderberry Syrup - two teaspoons/day.
Bolthouse Farms Vit C Boost juice - has astragalus and an immune boosting mushroom.
I have a friend taking olive leaf extract and zinc. So far the germs are staying away.
And I take ganmao tuire chongji - a Chinese drink mix for immune boosting - when I feel the slightest tinch of something coming on.
Ohhh...and it never rains as much as they say it is. Stop looking at the weather. It's pointless and wrong.

I have given them and myself Oscillococcinum, elderberry, kids immunity booster,( adult immunity booster for me with the mushrooms etc) homeopathic cough syrup, and oregano oil. Sometimes thinking it was overkill but it isn't really budging. I have been monitoring them as far as breathing etc and all seem to be fine. I am just feeling a little sore in the chest and am off to see what else I can find at the health store. As far as the weather I know I shouldn't look but it's hard not too. I have monitoring the hurricane action mostly and am seeing a tropical storm developing but am seeing everybody's pics of vacations as well and no really yucky weather pics.

9 days out is still too far to determine anything weather-wise other than perhaps a hurricane track, and even then, probably too soon.
But I know it's hard not to look, I do it myself all the time! :D

Oh, and while I'm wearing my public health hat, I am obligated to also shout from the rooftops: get the vaccine when it is available to you. It's safe. It's effective. The benefits far outweigh any risks.

:wave:Yeah, we did have a big change in weather, it went from sunny and 90īs and not cooling down at night, to waking up FREEZING...(ok so I exagerate) the day AFTER I took all of my jackets and long sleeved shirts to the cleaner...they still arenīt back and I have been suffering now for 3 days.....
So, warm and kind of cloudy days, breezy, ocean a bit rough, cool nights and mornings....but so far no rain. It is weird, the wind shifted to the north, which is what causes this, but it just plain feels like, looks like, and SOUNDS like fall...kind of neat. Again, the days are plenty warm....but youīll want warmer clothes for night.....
BTW; with the title of this thread sick sick sick, I was hoping for something juicier:o

Juicer, like orange juice? which is great vit C. :)
and the local hamacas dont help with the breeze going right through em. I have a Colombian hamaca that I put up for when it is cold.
