Hi there..sigh...still hunting where to stay. I am still trying to stay up north and was wondering if anyone has any comments on Zazil kin and also how the heck can you find get a hold of them. I have read other posts and was told to phone dive shop but the link does not work from the tulum hotels site anymore. Also was checking out Posada del Sol and was looking for feedback on that one and how far of a walk it would be to the Abyss Dive shop? That is what we are basically trying for somewhere not too far away as will be hauling our dive stuff. Thanks for any help at all.

You can reach them at:
cabanas_zazilkin@yahoo.com.mx

It may take them a few days to respond, as they just check thier mail once in a while....on serious beach time.

cheers

I'll always recall the words of our dive instructor..."scuba is an equipment-intensive sport". :D I didn't fully appreciate that until I had to lug around all my dive stuff plus two tanks...wow!

By the way, Zazil-Kin has a great beach bar to hang out at after your dives...

We love Zazil Kin and it's the only place we'll try and stay at... We never bothered with a reservation though. Just show up early. Shoot for a cabana closer to the beach because the noise from the night club can get loud at night especially on the weekends...

Thanks for the info on Zazil. Being newbies to Tulum and having a flight that arrives mid afternonn want to have accomodations lined up before we arrive. I am hoping that Zazil will reply to my email I sent them. It seems so many of the places have either changed hands or have under gone renos in the last year that alot of the reviews are so mixed. Paraiso is one that we looked into but sooo many bad reviews we are kind of unsure, even though the beach there is said to be so beautiful, and is the area that we wish to be in. Decisions decisions...sigh:confused:

A few pics from a few days ago at Zazil Kin.

Little bar that can get busy at night. We had a great time with great people here one night. It is pretty wierd when people just start coming out of nowhere to party.

thanks so much for the awesome pics!! Can't wait to see more and hear about your adventures. By the way please don't tell me where you actually found your little "friend" . It should be okay by the time we get there in Feb as they should all be sleeping by then.....isn't that when they start their hybernation cycle?!:D Just was wondering more about the Zazil kin. It is hard to find a site that give much detail. Do some of the cabanas have private baths? They also list "standard rooms" do they have a building type complex as well as cabanas? Which cabana # would you suggest to try and request, if in fact I can manage to book something ahead of time.
Just call me question girl....lol
thanks for any and all info
p.s. how do you get that count down timer thingy workin, would love to see my time count down

I believe they have a couple private bath cabanas, but we didnt even look at them. No building type complex. Everything else one may need is on site( even a basketball court), but we had a car so we didnt even eat there. Restaraunt looked nice though. You can book tours, dives etc. on site. We only spent one night then moved on and found a little more luxury the next night, it was Tita Tulum and it couldnt have been better.

Last couple pic's of Zazil Kin.

There is a small Hotel on site these days right to the right of reception. It was slowly built over the last few years. We poked around once, but never looked into staying in it. If I'm not mistaken that's it just off to the right in back of our favorite cabana. Sorry about the small pic and I know you can barely see it there, but there's a two story building.

Oh ya i did see that, but they were working on it so it didnt look open at the time we were there. It did look very nice though from the outside.
