Is it possible to walk from Cabanas Copal to El Paraiso (I guess I mean is the beach accessible the whole way)? If so, how far is it?
Is El Paraiso now call Nuddy Beach club?

In a word - No. We tried to walk from Nachos Latitude 20? (I forget exact name) back down to Copal one day. Nachos is south of El Paraiso (now called Nuddy I believe) so that would have to be factored in. But our trip started after I had a cab drop us at Nachos.
We saw some folks from the rustic campsite next to Nachos walk past us heading south. It is all iron-shore and I should have paid attention to the fact that they had hiking shoes on. Anyhow we began our walk across the iron shore, along the waters edge, heading south . . . in flip-flops  .
There was a bit (ok, a lot) of backtracking from waters edge, out to find places to climb off ironshore, onto trail, and then back up on ironshore. At one point we tried to get to the road . . . but the jungle got too thick and we headed back to the waterline. Back up on more ironshore. My flip-flops beginning to turn into confetti.
Eventually we got to a camp-site just north of the new huge mega-development (rant for another thread) and found a path leading out to the Boca-Paila road. We then walked along the road back to Copal.
Starting from Nuddy, you would have similar (albeit less scary) trials past Mezzanine and some of the small north end boutique hotels, eventually picking up our trail. I would NOT recommend it.
Este es mi dos pesos.

editors note: OK, so I just re-read your question about heading North from Copal to Nuddy - either way I'll say you can't do this. We also tried a north route from Copal (before the above trek) and about 20 minutes north of Copal on the beach you hit the first ironshore - and it is a steep climb. I'm sticking by my above answer. Don't do it.

Thanks for your reply! When you look on a map, it's difficult to tell how the shoreline is.
I guess we'll just taxi it! Don't want to make confetti out of my sandals ;).

We started a similar walk only to turn around when we hit the stone very sharp not possable to walk on w/o shoes. If you attempt this take shoes not thongs or flip flops. When you get to the bad areas getting accross even with shoes is not easy. Several spots you will have to try to find the road, not an easy task in many places. My suggestion, walk the road or take a cab. Dave

The rocks don't let up till Diamante K...as mentioned, I wouldn't recommend it! Also, I think El Paraiso has been also known as Nuddy's for some time now (at least a year) but it just hasn't caught on...

Thanks for the info and thanks for that shot of the drink menu there. It gives me a little idea of how much money to bring ;).

Yikes. Someone's cashing in on their recent rise in popularity. Drink prices have doubled in less than a year. Price of progress I guess. :)

AMEN!! Not to mention the bed rental is now $10 and does not include two drinks like it use to. Unfortunately, it's a bit difficult to 'sneek" in beer when you're only wearing a swimsuit. "Excuse me senior...is that a cerveza in your trunks or are you just happy to be in Tulum?" :D
