I have only stayed at one of these; Cabanas Tulum. It is an average hotel right on the most beautiful beach with an inexpensive restaurant that serves delicious food.
Depending on what age your child is, I would say that Cabanas Tulum or Cesiak would have the most for him/her to do. At Cabanas Tulum there are some activity type things, like a pool table, ping pong, etc. Cesiak can keep a kid busy with eco type activities with a guide, like kayaking, snorkeling etc.
Casa Tulum is in town, and would require a cab or car to get to the beach. I can tell you from firsthand knowledge it is alot easier to enjoy the beach if all you have to do is step out your door and there it is. Although being in town might be enjoyable for an older child, and would offer more cultural experiences like socceer with the local kids etc. I can't think of any kid who wouldn't want to be on the beach.
Los Arrefices looks to be a pretty kewl place and is on my list of places to stay in the future, I am not sure if it would be workable for a child...unless the child is completely content with nothing to do but the beach.
My pic would probably be Cabanas Tulum.

I only have experience with Cabanas Tulum also, so that would be my pick cuase of the few activities available there(pool tables and ping pong probably isnt available anywhere else in Tulum). Also any tours can be arranged from Cabanas Tulum to explore the Sian Kaan reserve. One more plus for CT is the location next to good eating places ( Los Lirrios and Ana y Jose).

Hey Ashlandor, Can't answer your question, but was wondering if your username is because you are from Ashland, OR? We are and are going to Tulum in January (without the kids, though).
