My husband and I have just booked 8 days at the Maya Tankah, has anyone been there lately? This will be our first time in Tulum, last year went to Cancun, it was fun, but want somewhere more peaceful! Any info on getting around, the hotel, the beach, in other words, I want to know it all, would be greatly appreciated. Hope to hear any and all opinions, thx!!! lianne:) Oh, booked Mar. 1 thru 8 2007!

Welcome Lianne,
I've not stayed here but it looks very nice. Here's a link to photos and reviews (in case you didn't see this on TripAdvisor)...

I always wanted to stay at Freedom Paradise (now Maya Tankah). It looks so serene and laid back. Read a great review about the snorkeling..the water depth even at the reef, which is close in to the beach is not much more than 10 ft. deep..making it like a natural aquarium.
Nothing fancy about this place..but if you want to relax and enjoy the quiet with All Inclusive features, this sounds like the right place! I have heard the food is a bit bland and may be the weak spot at the resort..but if you don't limit yourself to the resort, get out and explore some of the local restaurants in the area, that shouldn't be a problem. I don't tend to be too picky about my meals, as long as they are edible, I don't have to have top chef quisine. I doubt anybody would actually starve at Maya Tankah:rolleyes:
