The ruins of Becan are located about 100 kilometers from Bacalar on Hwy. 186. It's the only ruin to be walled in and surrounded by a moat. It's a fairly large site and takes 2 to 3 hours to explore.

How far is Bacalar from Tulum?

Laguna Bacalar is about a 3 to 3 1/2 hour drive from Tulum. It's also known as The Lagoon of The Seven Colors because of the different hues you get off the water. It's beautiful. Worth spending a day or two. The town is nice and there are many places to stay on the water. I believe it is a kilometer wide by 37 kilometers long. All fresh water.
