Yes they are from today. It is one of our favorite places as well. Have you been to the restaurant there- Sea Salt? It is fabulous.

They have finally started some long overdue maintenance on the creek banks to shore up the erosion problems.

That is a great shot of the summer falls!

It's great fossil hunting along the creek bluffs as well.

No I haven't been to the restaurant. I didn't know one existed except for the snacks at the pavilion there at the top. Is it new?? We will have to check it out!! We always have a trip to the falls every year!!

You know, I have to say that Minneapolis/St. Paul is probably one of the most beautiful city areas in the country. Y'all have to suffer through those insane winters, but they've done a fabulous job of urban/suburban design, all those lakes and parks and bike paths and everything, right within the borders of the city. I just wish you guys were closer to New York!

Oh yeah it's not a snack bar anymore! But it is seafood so it might not be for you, nothing else on the menu.

Lynnette, I highly recommend June and September. And you can take a fun Segway tour that shows off the river, bridges, architecture and the beautiful parks and trails downtown.

;)but the waterfall won't be frozen and if you come in the winter the bike paths aren't nearly as crowded and there aren't any mosquitos

I'll enjoy the frozen waterfalls from your pics, Sue!!! :D I've always wanted to do a Segway tour in Chicago, and that would be a great way to see Minneapolis. I think fall would be a beautiful time to visit!!!

I like that Magical History tour! Have you done this, Fran?

I don't think we actually did the Magical History Tour, but I'm not sure if there was a name for our tour. We did spend about 3 hours, crossed the Stone Bridge and looked at the weir and the 35 bridge that was in the river, stopped at the big museum (or was it the theater? the one with the big counterbalance architecture) for a snack and a rest, then up the river again where we crossed over and saw Nicollet Island and then back.

It was a cool tour, maybe it was Magical History?

That would have been the "Guthrie Theater". Beautiful building!! Could you have taken any pictures while riding a segways???

beachreader

Yes, the Guthrie, thanks, Minnie.

And yes, they make several stops along the way so you can take pictures, but it's best not to take your hands off the handles while moving. :)
