We hear so much about Copal, Mezzanine, Tita Tulum etc..but what about the little unknown places along the beach road that don't get a mention?
Anyone know anything about
El Triunfo (between Hemmingway and Posada Margarita)
Kiwi Beach (Between Retiro Maya and Rancho Playa Azul)
Camping Oasis (between Cabanas Tulum and Los Lirios)
Lumil EK (Between Posada Lamar and Retiro Maya)
Uno (Between Shambala Petit and Esmeralda K)
Tanga Manga, Casita Del Mar and El Caracol (Just south of Coqui Coqui)
Playa Selva (next to Jade Tulum)
Mayan Paradise (next to Suenos)
Alcoba Azul (just North of Dos Ceibas)
I would love to know about these places we pass as we drive toward Punta Allen but never really hear about!

Good question. I havent even heard of most of these places. Allthough i have stayed at Cabanas Tulum and never seen anything from the beach between CT and Los Lirios. Must be top secret. There are some really cool places out there that are just a walk up and make aquaintences sp??.
I have a friend that did just that somewhere near Zahra and met the owners of a couple rooms. He paid like 40 bucks and said they were the nicest people and had a nice room on the beach. This was last year.

The morning of June 8, 06 my wife and I began a walk north from Tierra Del Sol. We left there at about 7:30 really did not know where we would end up we had swim suits and some cash. We stopped at most of the places along the beach, we would walk up to the resort and ask a few ques. have a cervasa and move on. Some of these places show on a map we had but really could not find some or there was just nothing there other than shacks. Many did not appear to be open others would surprise you that they were ready to take you in. Suenos was the one that surprised us nice place, but were closed for business. Perhaps ownership problems. We made to Zamas by 1:30 had lunch and took a taxi back to TDS. And if others decide to do a walk like this wear thongs or sandals. Rock outcropings along the way in different areas do not allow a beach / sand walk the entire way.

We stumbled across the place we stayed by doing what dcap did. After we got off the bus in town and dropped our bags off at Posada del Sur, we took a taxi to the beach and walked from Kin Ha towards the south. There are a few places you just don't hear anything about via the message boards and internet research
