Whats a goof map???

Tulum is referred to in several ways.

Many just call Tulum in reference to the ruins. These are located just North of Tulum Pueblo.

Hwy 307 runs directly thru Tulum Pueblo.

Near the North end of Tulum Pueblo is a cross road that heads East towards the ocean and West to Coba etc.. If you take this cross road to the East this is where you will find the so-called hotel zone, with lodging available in many different varieties. This hotel zone is all ocean front and is about 3-4 miles long. This ocean front road( Boca Paila rd) heads to Punta Allen via the Sian Kaan reserve. Hope this helps.

This might help you familiarlize yourself with the Tulum area.

You will be coming from Cancun, which is to the north (top of Map). Coba Rd, is the intersection where you see San Francisco Grocery Store located. Continue thru the intersection to arrive at Tulum Pueblo..turn left to reach the beach road, which you see running along the coast. The Ruins are shown at the north end of the beachroad, but you actually enter to them from 307 before you get to the Coba Rd. Intersection.

This map is a bit dated, a few years old, and not all places are listed, but it is one of the best I have online. I believe many of the hotels have a current map available to their guests, I think it is included in the tourist newspaper, Sacbe News.

Give me an atta girl..lol...after almost 3 years on this forum, I have learned to use the insert image feature!!!:D

Way to go Gale:cool: . I never could get that map to print out that well.

For those of you wondering about the little store on the beach road it is between Piedra Escondido and Zamas, as that is the only tiny little shopping area outside of the Pueblo, complete with a money exchange too.
