We sould be in Tulum for a few dayx next March. We are looking for a cabana on the beach for 2 persons. We would like to have a private bathroom, electricity and hot water. Of course, we would like it to be not too expensive. Is there such a thing? Should make reservations in advance?

Do you need 24hr. electricity? If so, that reduces your choices greatly.

If 7a.m - 11 p.m. electricity works for you ,Cabanas Tulum would fit your description.

These look pretty rustic, shared bathrooms, not my cup of tea, Tita for a little more, or Cabanas tulum for $55 or $60 private bath and much brighter rooms.

I agree Papaya Playa is a little overpriced for what you get. Must be new owners that doubled the prices from a couple years ago. I also think Van is associated with them;)

Obviously, with Papaya Playa under new management, they are taking advantage of the free advertisment. Prices at the website haven't changed..wonder if they will honor them?
PP is way too rustic for the prices quoted here.

I'm sorry that most of my pic's have been deleted. Cabanas Tulum rooms are the most like a motel that i have seen in the Tulum beach area. They are basic, but clean and secure.

Many others are stick huts that vary dramatically in comforts. These stick huts are where we will be staying next time just because i know there days are numbered.
