I'm almost embarassed to ask, after all the "cenote research" I've been doing lately but..........

What is the name of the cenote nearest to Ek Balam??

Isn't it Ek Balam cenote? It's off of the parking area if I remember correctly.

(Correct me if I'm not ... but I think I remember a sign pointing to it and I remember heading in that direction before someone told me the ruins were the other way ...)

Or were you thinking of the three known ones in Valladolid?

The cenote at Ek Balam is called X-canche. It's located one mile from the parking lot and admission will run you at least 100 pesos/person. You enter via a winding trail that hugs the wall or can rappel 60 feet down into the water.

Where do i pick up my prize? :D

Lee, you are right about the name but wrong about the price. You can rent a bike and swim for $7.50 USD.

Thanks Think...does that include the rappel? I've not gone into that one and was pulling the price info off of Can-do's Chichen Itza map.

As of early June, it was $15 per person for the full package. We weren't wanting to rappel so I asked how much to just rent bikes and swim and he said $7.50 each :) Either way, that place is awesome and worth every penny.
