Hi everybody,
I just joined about a week ago and have been reading up on all your trip reports and anxiously counting the days till my October trip to Soliman Bay/Tulum. My wife and I honeymooned there 5 years ago. Way too long in between trips and after looking at the pics you guys post I'm even more ready to get back. I look forward to getting to know you guys and hopefully meet some of you in October. Who's gonna be there Oct.9-17?

Hey Ken! Welcome!

You might overlap with Ilovewyoming & her husband (Laura & Dave). I don't know that she gets over here to the Intros thread much, but as we get closer to the October date there might be more conversation about who's gonna be there. Also, if you haven't already, put your dates on the calendar feature.

Isn't it just the perfect place for a honeymoon? We did the same thing in 2005. I can't imagine a better honeymoon trip!

Thanks minnie! Trying to book our flights today. We'll be on Soliman Bay and all over Tulum Oct. 8-15. Can't wait! Hey, do you think a Jeep Wrangler 4 door can haul me and 3 chicas + luggage around? Guess it largely depends on how much stuff the ladies take, huh.

Welcome to the board. I don't know if you've booked already, but I found cheaper flights out of Lexington vs. SDF. Good luck :)

Thanks think, we are waiting for one in our party to confirm her plans, but my wife, a friend and I found flights out of Indy for about $470. Are the Lex. flights comperable?

My tickets were a little cheaper than that, however they were purchased about 5 months ago before everything went up so much. I just wanted to make sure you realize you can save money by looking at other nearby cities. Looks like you're already aware of that, so you're doing good. :)

Yeah, I saw prices considerably cheaper a few weeks ago, but we were still trying to solidify dates. It seems like Indy is always the cheapest in our general vicinity.

Just butting in to ask about the Jeep Wrangler. Anything with a cloth top is not actually secure, so I wouldn't be leaving any kind of valuables in there during the days or nights.

Why not just get a Jeep Liberty, with the hard top? Should be decent room for 4 people with luggage (I have one here at home), and it's totally lock-up-able.

Just a thought. I mean, I know Wranglers are fun and sexy and all, but I like things a bit more contained if possible.

But then I'm an old fuddy-duddy sometimes.

Some of us go to Tulum to have fun and be sexy! ;-)
