Hello all! I've been soaking up all the good stuff on this board for awhile now and finally made my first post. I can't tell you how helpful and just plain fun all the tips, restaurant reviews, pics, etc have been. This is my wife and my first trip to Tulum and although we are staying at Dreams, we have no intention of staying on the reservation! We're soooooo excited! Our best to everyone from NYC where it's FINALLY spring... David

I am a suburb of St Paul - just north of the city!! Hibbing is about 2-3 hours away!! Hibbing is in a beautiful part of the state!!

Welcome ...... we stayed at Dreams several years ago. It was pretty good as far as AIs go, but we finally made the break from AI this year and had a blast. I am sure you will too exploring off the resort. But save some for next year!!

Thanks Solbound! We have waaaaay more to do than we can squeeze in this year alone. I'm obsessed with the Maya...so Tulum and Coba this year...Chichen Itza and Ek Balaam (?!?) next year...south of the Biosphere...so much to do and so little vacation time.
I love this board, so much info and such great people!
Thanks, David

Welcome David. I've been to more than a dozen Mayan ruins and would suggest you add (if you have a rental car) Muyil to your list this year. It's about 20 minutes south of Tulum pubelo on the east side of Highway 307 (the main drag). You'd only need an hour or so to cover it and might be the only one there exploring. A more intimate experience than the Disney-like atmosphere of Chichen Itza or Tulum. You could also combine your Muyil visit with a cenote swim (Escondido-Cristal or Gran) and lunch (Bronco Pollo or Don Cafeto) in-town.

Thanks everyone! Lee, that's one amazing photo...
I just realized that an hour at Muyil is part of our Sian Kaan tour by Community Tours S.K.!
Now we're REALLY excited...Best, David
