Does anyone know if dive operations run south of the Tulum ruins or even into the biosphere?

I believe the correct spelling is "south." ;-)

Hi Glorydaze,

The Abyss Dive Center has a location in Tulum. I'm not exactly sure where, but listed below is their website.

Playa del Carmen Diving with the Abyss - about the staff (http://www.abyssdiveshop.com/aboutus.html)

Enjoy Tulum & your dives!

Maureen's website will probably be more helpful to you than this...but we went to the observation tower at Sian Kaan about 2 weeks ago. There's a dive company located right there. Looked like they had a lot of different tours - diving, fishing, snorkeling - but that's all I know about it.

Wow, that is interesting, because I contacted Abyss and they told me that diving was prohibited in the Sian Kaan preserve. I wonder if the excurions from the tower are going into the bay? Do you remember the name of the operation that mans the tower?

Thanks for the info!

Hi Glorydaze,

Check out the web link listed below.

There are tours, but they are not exactly diving (tanks & such).

Sian Kaan Reserve Mexico National Nature Park Birdwatching beaches wildlife (http://www.cancunsouth.com/cit_siankaan.html)

They sound great. We may be in Tulum in June, but our dates are undecided at this time. This tour sounds cool. The observation tower in the perserve is really a most incredible view of a very unique area.
