WOW - thank all of you; that is so helpful, esp. to one who has not had the fabulous opportunity as to experience Tulum( and wondered as to the relativity of lodgings to one another.

So, in your humble opinions, who puts together the best map for a direction challenged person as myself..although by now I know - exit Cancun, jump on 307 til you get to Tulum. Yea! :palmtree:
But for all those explorations I've been reading about in the TR...and giving me huge anxiety attacks as to how I fit it all in, a map would come in handy.

Also - where do we stop in Playa to buy our CASES of wine? I will really try out the margs:margarita:, but deep down I am french, and drink cheap red wine.

Suenos closed long before Dean..it is a land dispute and is stalled in the Mexican courts. Sad, it was such a beautiful place.

We were there just two weeks before it was forcibly closed. Now, if I had to choose my all time perfect place to vacation, it would be Suenos hands down. We can only hope it reopens some day!

Came across a trip report on another site discussing a new hotel named "Luv Tulum." Not sure where it is, or if it is a renamed place. The reports indicate it opened this year. Anyone know anything about this hotel?

Heenan, it's my understanding that LuvTulum is in the place of about half of the old Amansala, so next to Casa Violeta. I don't know any more about it yet, but I'm going to check it out in September for sure.

I just checked, and their website is still under construction, but the handful of pictures on that other travel site look really wonderful.
