Just wanted to say hi to everyone. I'm on playa.info and I'm missing Playa already (first and last trip was almost exactly one month ago) :( . Took the playa.info tour to Tulum w/Mitch (quite the character!) and have since decided to make it the focus of my next trip. So, I'll be checking out the site/forums for hotel/restaurant reviews as I make my plans. Not sure when...but sure it's not soon enough. Take care all!

Hi John! Were we in Playa at the same time?? I was there (and in Tulum) from Feb 24 to mar 6.

Welcome to the board(s). I think you'll love staying in Tulum.

Hey John,

It's rainy, cool and cloudy today; and threatening to snow tonight. What makes that so terrible is that it is May 3.

So, of course, where do I go to escape? Here! How fun to find you also checking out Tulum. It was a lovely trip that day, and the beaches were amazing. Like you, I'm also thinking that my next trip might have to include a few days in Tulum.

Keep in touch.

Hi,
Tulum is generally laid back, and depending on where you stay (beach accomodations can range from the welcoming to the obstreperous), you are likely to experience amazing beauty. We did the beach lodging in a previous visit, and were frankly underwhlemed (name withheld to protect the guilty cabana). Our most recent visit was split between Tulum pueblo (a friendly, super clean posada called luna sur in downtown) that gave us the chance to know a real slice of mexico (restaurants we enjoyed were cafetos, la nave, basilico, little buenos aires, as well as some local spots for authentic mexican food - try the chile taco at the place by the entrance to tulum) and a rather basic lodge in sian ka'an near punta allen (learned to flyfish with captn barera, an awesome guide, but most importantly, discovered beaches and scenery only found in dreams). Hope this was helpful, and have lots of fun
