Thank you all for the warm welcomes. I am planning a trip to tulum in Sept. does anyone know of anything going on then? We are planning on staying at the pariso it is my fav beach in tulum. But it has been 4 years since I've been there. And as I know PDC and Tulum is always changing.:)

Welcome! Paraiso renovated their rooms a year or two ago, so they'll be nicer than you remember. Pretty decent rooms, really, though I thought a bit overpriced for what they are (off the beach, motel style). I bet it would be fun to stay there, though!

We were there late last September Marlene and like you we enjoyed Paraiso a bunch. I didn't stay there but just hung out there for a bit. It was really slow which suited us. We had a great lunch there our first day...ceviche and Dos Equis as I recall. The date got a massage. She is a masseuse and she raved about the quality of the work she received so I guess that is saying something. Nothing at all was going on really accept the rain. I believe it rained most of the time but it didn't bother us a bit.

Welcome to the forum.

You'll find there's plenty of smart, friendly people (plus four dumb, crabby ones) :) on the board so make sure you ask away!

I don't know of the new hotel/cabanas in tulum that have opened since I was last there, I stayed at copal cabanas 4 years ago for my honeymoon.I lived in PDC for 2 years in 98 and 99 and playa is so crowded now Tulum reminds me of Playa a very long time ago.I'm bringing friends that have never been to mexico before and want to stay cheap but don't want to rough it too much.Thought pariso would be perfect I just wish they still had the 4 cabanas on the beach.:palmtree::palmtree::palmtree::palmtree:
