Now that I've finally got all my pictures labeled and uploaded, here are a few more for you:

One of about a million sunrise shots:

Che and Fidel, the puppies at Casa de Miel. Seriously cute little boys, don't they look like they're covered in snow? They need some reflective collars, though, to help protect them at night, so if anyone's heading down, they'll be a size large/XL pretty soon. You should see the paws on these guys!

And a quick food pic--ceviche at Puerta del Cielo. Lots of onions, but they're very sweet onions, and the ceviche is great.

Hey Beachreader, where did you post other pics...I can't find them:confused: How did your new camera do for snorkeling pics? I've attached one fishy pic:tropicalfish:...my first time attaching a pic on this forum, hope I didn't screw it up.

Hey, Hummer, I just posted one teaser pic on the Mayaflya thread. Just another sunrise.

I never got around to snorkeling; it was incredibly rough when we were there, I barely got into the water at all.

Instead of posting thumbnails, you can post larger pics. What online photo site do you use?

OK, one more. I know I'm giving away all my best stuff, but I just really love this picture. It's a partial view of the deck of the Captain Dale house at La Luna. I just love the shot for all the different lines and colors. If I'd known what I was going to get I could have lined it up better, but I still love it.

I started writing my report, but I'm on like page 2 and still only on day 2 or 3. I need an editor, so I'm going to sleep on it and see if the editor wakes up tomorrow. :)

Beachreader, sorry you didn't get any underwater pics with the new camera. I was really looking forward to seeing them. The wind sure kept the water churned up even in Soliman Bay. But we enjoyed the warm temps and sunshine even without the good snorkeling conditions.

I don't post pics on any onlines sites any more. Used to use Ofoto and a couple of others, but they've all gotten to the point where they seem like viruses, so I just avoid them...I don't even have flash installed on my computer cause I just hate the intrusiveness!

That's a great pic BR! I'd love to see a bigger version too, so I can better imagine myself in one of those hammocks....

Can't wait to read all about it.

Phyllis, I actually don't know how to make them bigger. This is the size I get when I view the pics on Shutterfly, then I take the properties from there and that size moves over here.

Anyone know Shutterfly?

I could probably e-mail them to you from my hard drive and they'd be bigger, but I'd like to make them just a bit bigger here in my posts.

Hummer, I don't know what you mean about online photo sharing sites being like viruses. I've had my pics on Shutterfly for years, and never had a problem. Most of the folks here use Photobucket (and maybe I should change over) or Flickr.

Hey Beachie, are these dogs about the size of a Labrador Retreiver? I volunteer as a foster home for Texas Lab Rescue and could get a couple of reflective collars for early May. I just want to make sure of their size. Oh, and I don't want to put them on unless they are full grown so that as they grow they don't get choked.

They're puppies, but they're definitely strong on the lab side of the mix, so they're going to be pretty big. I think they're about four months old now, maybe? We met an adult relative of theirs and while he was somewhat thinner than most labs up here, he has a very big head and neck. And they both have gigantic feet.

I'll send an e-mail to Matt and ask if he's interested. He's definitely concerned about their safety and has been training them to stay on the property (doing a good job of it too) and off of the road.

Oh great. So they have someone to care for their well being. The last thing you want to do is strap a collar on a puppy and leave. Then they outgrow it and choke.

Good point. No, these guys are definitely cared for, but they do need help at night (for obvious reasons). They sleep with Matt, and he has a caged area for times when he needs to contain them, but otherwise they have a pretty spiffy life tumbling around in the sand all day. Various guests have bought bags of dog food and left them for Matt, which I'm sure really helps with the food bills. I forgot to do that myself, though I meant to.

Welcome to the world of photography...one part equipment, three parts skill, and 96 parts luck. Whenever we're on a photo shoot for a client, we realize the more shots we take, the more talented we appear during the final review in the client's conference room. :)

Beachreader is taking me back to Tulum with that shot of the BEST Guac I have ever tasted! The cerviche was excellent too..I sure wish I had some of that for lunch!

That is an amazing picture from La Luna BR..I can feel the breeze and smell the scent of the sea!

Wow beachreader!.....these are really great shots....what a big difference over your last trip with your new camera. The deck shot is poster material!

For photo posting, I really like the ease of use on PhotoBucket. I recall that when you first register and upload, you can pick the size of the photos that Photobucket will resize your shots to. Photobucket will reduce your Photos from , say 7MB, to 1MB, to save storage space. This size is large enough for forum postings.

Windy, I'm not sure if this is what you meant, but I'd like to change the physical size of my posted photos, you know, make them appear about an inch or so wider on the thread itself. Not the 7MB vs. 1.5 MB kind of "size", unless that is part of it.

This is probably more an issue with Shutterfly, since this is the size they come out there, that's the size they post here.

I suppose I could just move everything over to Photobucket--it would probably make sense, since you guys all know more about Bucket. Is it easy to move stuff from one site to another? Or do you just start over again, uploading from your hard drive? I like having everything in one place, and right now, that's Shutterfly, for the past several years of pics.

By the way, I've finished the bulk of the writing of my TR, but it's obscenely long. I'll cut some of it, but as it stands now, it's 15 pages in Word! Holy cow I can sure babble on when details are involved.

I don't know how long 15 pages in Word translates to in board space, but I think I need to do some drastic cutting.

Beachreader, PhotoBucket will ask you what size to make them. I think you're currently at Small - 640 X 480. Medium is 800 X 600, and Large is 1024 X 768. That other number is arbitrary; whatever size you pick will automatically reduce the file size from 7MB down to a lower number.

You will have to download directly from your HD to Photobucket. PhotoBucket is designed to work with pretty much these type of forums, and emailing of photos, aka web posting. It's not like Shutterfly, which is more for doing personal albums and sharing, than for web posting. I have accounts on both for doing different things with my pics.

Another piece of advice: It's a good idea to have a separate, external hard drive to store a copy of your photos on. It saved me 4 times when I had to reformat my hard drive. I'd be a terrible thing to loose all your photos if you only keep them on the C:\ hard drive of the computer. You can get an external USB type drive, 500GB, for about $139 these days. Very much worth it!

Thanks. I'll have to go look at Photobucket, might even do it before I do my TR.

I use a company laptop, and with their permission keep my pics on my hard drive. It's automatically backed up (every day, I think), via a connection with the company server. My computer crashed last year, and all my pics came right back when they gave me my new machine.

That should be enough, no? I was also thinking of burning some disks of pics, as I've been teaching my mother to do (she likes having hard copies of things, even prints out her e-mails), but it seems like too much of a hassle.

Yep...in that case, that sounds like enough. Lucky you!
