First off...welcoome to my first post on this forum!! Great site so far.

My girlfriend and I are doing an overnight trip down to the Tulum area during our Cancun vacation. I absolutely love Cancun, but this time I want to get out on my own and do some way overdue exploring.

Day one we will drive from Cancun to visit Hidden Worlds for some cenote and cave snorkeling in the afternoon. Dinner somewhere along the coast in the evening. Then stay overnight at Cabanas Copal.

Day two we will visit the ruins at Tulum in the morning. Head to Coba in the late morning. Then make our way back up to Cancun in the afternoon. Probably stopping to check out some of the towns along the coast along the way.

My first question: Is there anyway to get into the ruins site at Tulum before 8AM? Would I be in trouble if I were to go in at sunrise?

2nd Question: Any other ideas or suggestions? I have done a ton of research to put this day trip together, but I would love to hear opinions from people who are more familiar with the area. Restaurant reccomendations, beaches to see, shops to visit. I am open to and very appreciative of any advice.

Thanks in advance
Jason Lambert

You could enter from the beach. They may not like it, but it could be done.
