Hi
Great to have found this message board and I have learned a lot just from reading your posts. Thanks for your kind information and help.
I will be visiting Tulum in about a month and having never been there, am wondering what to expect. I dream of beaches with reggae music and Bob Marley playing. Will my dream come true?
Seriously, are any of the cabanas there or any restaurants loyal to reggae beats?
Can't wait to hear what the scene is like in Tulum on the beaches and in the town. Thanks in advance for your replies.:)

hello.
the scene....
hmmmm...
what to say.
The wife and i were just there. Friday night the mezzanine has a big party ,saturday night there is a hippie party at don armandos....but aside from that its qiuet. We loved it...cause we need time together, but the two ladies i ran into complained that it was too qiute and they were in bed by 9:30...so temper your expectations for night life. During the day El paraiso has good tunes and a nice bar...chairs,hammocks and shade, as well as grub. Hang there .

Thank you so much for your thoughtful reply.
I was wondering if the beach front cabanas were going to be rowdy at night and it looks like they won't be which is fine by me.
Going down with my sister and we like some peace and quiet at bedtime.
Hopefully our cabana won't be located in party central
Thanks again for your reply and I am glad you like Tulum so much; it really makes me very excited to get there!!
Caribbean waters here I come!

Where is your cabana?
Some of them are a bit dodgy....

The cabanas we rented are at Papaya Playa, south of the "T" in the road
I read they had a private beach there, shared with another joint.
They used to have sand floor cabanas at PPlaya but the hurricane washed them away and now the one we are staying in is close to the beach but has a concrete floor.
