View Full Version : Best cabana at Tita's?

Hi everyone...new here and planning first trip to Tulum - hooray! My hubby and I are going (first trip without our 2 1/2 year old!) and have decided on Tita's. We're really laid back people and this place looks like a good choice. Question is...which cabana??
We'd like to have a private porch area (meaning not shared with another room) which it looks like all of Tita's are?
We don't want to be next to the restaurant so #3 & 4 are out, but which #s on the other side of the restaurant? I'm guessing it's the new ones - #9 & 10?
We seem to have crazy campground people karma (they always find us!) and I remember one reviewer said they had a lot of late-night campground noise when they stayed in #5 - anyone else experience this? Otherwise, #5 looks like it might be the best cabana for space, view, porch...any thoughts?
#1 looks like it might suit us...a little on the small side, but at least beach front.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks for all the info on Tulum!!

#5 is the one most people rave about. We stayed in No. 8 last year, but it was a few yards further away from the beach, nearer the restaurant. It was lovely, too, but book #5 if you can get it. You won't be disappointed.
As for campground noise, it's there for all the cabanas on that side, 5-10, if there are noisy campers there. Cabanas 1-4 are on the other side of the inverted V.
When are you going?

Yep, if you're worried about campers, I'd go with #1 as Option 2. #5 would be my first choice though.
There's also a 2nd floor unit right in the building behind #5 that probably gets a good breeze. Petecat & Donna stayed there on their trip last Nov. I can't remember if it's #6 or #7 though! I would think the first floor would be 6 and 7 would be the top but I could be totally wrong. That's also on the campground side though.

We were in #9 a year ago. Across from (but not directly across from) the restaurant. We never experienced any noise from the restaurant or felt any lack of privacy when hanging out on our front porch. It's exactly 50 steps from the door to the water's edge...I counted just to satisfy my curiousity, so you're still very close to the ocean. One of the few cabanas that had a big bed...we hate how small some of the Mexican twins can be...and felt it was a nice spot for the pesos. Still, I'd agree with the others and try to get #5 or #1 as the location is better.

Thank you for the info on the noise potential...we're going July 7 - 14 (or right around there)...I know it's not the best, best time, but in between work!
Looking forward to more tips and sharing pics when we return.

Yes Phyllis it was cabana 6 and it was excellent, great breeze, very quiet and very spacious, it is our favorite now at Titas since we stayed in it. I would not stay in any other, has a good view and is also private to hang out on the balcony at night!

If you want beachfront, I would, as the others said, go with #1,#5 or #6. If you are there in July, you will want to be assured of a good breeze. I guess I would go with Petecats #6.

I stayed in 5 and yes there was dogs barking and people laughing later into the night. There was even someone practicing with a fire stick. For me though being right on the beach in #5 is still worth it. Plus, if you keep yourself busy during the day, you should pass right out. That's what I did!! There was a good breeze too, although it was in July so stormy at night.
