Wow -

So for the past, oh, six months or so I have been doing due diligence on where to go in Tulum for our anniversary next May  . This will be our first trip to Tulum, after our wedding on Coz in 2000, and other trips to Isla Mujeres, Puerto Morelos, and back to Coz for our 5th this year.

We pretty much decided on Cabanas Copal and have been checking their online availability form to make sure we can be seaside/seaview for our trip. Gotta love the ocean breeze :) There have always been 13 out of the 14 seaview cabanas still available, so I figured I'd be good to book after the first of the year.

Well, today I figured since I haven't checked in about two weeks I'd have another looksie at the rooms still available. Today I see only 1 seaview unit left  !

So, I grab my handy CC# and commence to fill in the online form. I choose the remaining seaview king, and never before have the words "Thank you for your booking!" looked so beautiful. We are all set, and the panic attack is now over .

Now that the room is in place, I can relax, search for airfare, and drift off to sleep each night almost hearing the ocean surf. More research to do before next May, but I'm glad our location is locked in.

I'll see you all around here. Now where is that countdown thingie lilke they have on the playa site?

I dont think they have a countdown clock for this portion of the forum:( It is probably a good thing you reserved early for Copal. We were there in June 05 and all the seaview rooms were full:( This was quite a shock cause it was the only place that was very busy in the Tulum area. Have a great time, and congratulations.

Thanks jx2.

Something dawned on me after my post. Although I have read that Tulum doesn't get that crowded in low season, there hadn't been two hurricanes bludgeon the more popular areas in recent years. Hence, I'm thinking folks are probably heading farther south next year.

So that probably 'splains the quick fill up at Copal.

And maybe Ginger can pull some strings to get us a countdown clock down here?

You will love the sea view at Copal. There are little paths to the beach that lead right up to the doorstep of your cabana. Much better than the "garden view" (jungle) rooms. Ours had a little table & chairs outside the room, facing the water. We had the best time. Take flashlights & mosquito repellant! Guess you already know that it's clothing optional:eek:

Try the chilaquiles at Copal's restaurant... they serve them with chicken or fried eggs. We'll be at Los Lirios in Dec, but will definitely visit the Copal... maybe get a massage or Mayan treatment:rolleyes:

Actually, you can go to the Playa site and make a countdown clock, copy the code, and insert it into your signature over here and it will work fine!

Go here (http://www.playa.info/make_countdown.php) to create one.

Ginger,

You da bomb!

And it only took me three tries :D

Now, would I be greedy to ask how to add an avatar picture that wouldn't give me an error when saving? Perhaps another day.

Thanks,

Thanks,

How about today? :)

The picture must be within the limits of 80 x 80 pixels and 19 Kb.

If you don't know how to edit it to be within this range, you could send it to me and I"d be glad to help.

If you want to do that, then just PM me and I'll send you my email addy.

Kudos to Ginger, thanks for your assistance and to James for getting my pic in place.

btw - my avatar is a little dated, from back when I had a little more fur, er - hair.
