Anyone familiar with it? http://villadolcevita.com/ (http://villadolcevita.com/)
I'm looking for a place where I can hang out at the beach during the day, snorkle, and generally hang out c/o. In the evening get to eat out and then just goof off after supper.
I like the idea of azulik, but it appears that only 50% of the crowd are au naturel and it seems like I'd be more comfortable with a higher percentage in a like state.

I am not familiar with the exact premises, but Solimon Bay is a beautiful place. It's a nice bay/inlet, with calm waters and a nice beach. However, I don't personally feel that the beaches are as pristine and expansive as in Tulum. It is a nice area, though!
There are many, many cabana hotels in Tulum where going sans swimsuit is perfectly acceptable and the norm. There are some threads on here about that topic also.
I thinkyou'll love either place!

Thanks. Do you have any links for tulum places other than the Cabana/Azulik properties? I like the idea of these places, but think the no AC will be an issue for my wife and I both. My other issue with these properties is that it sounds like the cabanas are right on top of each other. I'd like a bit more privacy. Tulum sounds like more of what we're looking for since we'd be able to explore the ruins I just haven't been able to find much beyond the properties mentioned.

There are many cabanas along the road to Boca Paila, some nearer the ruins, some much further and secluded.
As for air conditioning, many people do fine without it, many people consider it a must, this is a preference that really varies from person to person. I'm not going to try to tell you that your not going to need it, but it will definately depend on the time of year you are going and where your cabana is located. If you are going from April to September, you would probably want to have a/c if your cabana was set back from the ocean and further into the jungle. However, if you had a beachfront cabana you would get such great breezes from the ocean to cool you down. During the winter months, it is generally a lot cooler and a/c would not really be needed...mostly. Anywho, you are going to find it hard, I believe, to find a selection of cabanas with A/C.
Here are some links to some more cabanas hotels in Tulum:
Nueva Vida: This place does have nude beaches, and I've read that there are many people sunbathing nude, walking nude, swimming nude, etc. in the area. http://www.tulumnv.com/
Diamante K: This hotel is close to the Tulum ruins. This is the one we think we have chosen for our upcoming trip. http://www.diamantek.com/indexing.htm
Esmerelda K: Sister to the Diamonte. http://www.diamantek.com/indexing.htm
Zamas: has a great restaurant, although I'm not particular to their beach. It's nice, just not as expansive as I prefer. http://www.zamas.com/
Maya Tulum: a wellness center/spa as well http://www.mayatulum.com/mayatulum/index.aspx
Papaya Playa: another resort that welcomes nudity. I don't have a website, but you'll find more info with a google search.
There's many, many more. I'm not sure which - if any- have A/C, though.
Hope this helps some!
