On our tour of the ruins last January, the guide mentioned this one building was used as a natural alarm which would sound off as the wind increased.

Does anyone know or have they heard if this indeed did sound off before and during Hurricane Emily??

Perhaps someone would like to test this out over the coming days? ;) :)

This would be perfect. I won't be down till the end of January, otherwise, I would be tempted to check it out.

Cirelle,
If you don't get a chance to test this in January, we'll give it a shot next May!
In the mean time, I suppose we'll have to leave the answer in the "If a tree falls in the middle of the woods during a hurricane . . . " category.
PS - Good one Ginger, any takers?
