we went when there and just enjoyed it. i wish wines by the bottle were a bit cheaper given the quality, but we liked.

the one thing we didn't get was shaved parm with our pasta, although I was admonished by somebody that seafood shouldn't get parm. i tend not to agree, but then again, my days in Siena did not involve much seafood pasta.

God, I hate food (and wine) snobs! Eat what you like, how you like it and don't worry what the self-proclaimed experts say, ditka. I love to order a dark Malbec with fish. Why? Cause I don't like white wine even if it's what you're suppose to drink with seafood. Hopefully it wasn't one of PM's staff that made the cheese comment...I'd have then asked them for ketchup instead! :D

i do too, although i am a "no ketchup on my hot dog" kinda of guy, a bit religious about it, in fact. my chicago origins at work.

no, it was a bloak i met at La Zebra on Sunday. Good guy. Actually, one of the cat's from Posada was there as well.

I tend to be fairly traditional with red wine and white wine food choices, but that's because I like it that way. They go together for me. I do reds with some fishes, but I wouldn't do white with red meat unless I was camping and we didn't have a choice.

I think the no cheese with seafood thing got started because the Italians don't eat it that way in certain regions. That got translated to "this is the right way/wrong way", instead of "oh, that's interesting, but I still think cheese would be good with this", as it should be.

Which reminds me, I need to toss a bottle of red pepper flakes in my bag. No one ever has it down there and I love it on pizza and pasta! :D

Oh...well that's different...only a heathen would put ketchup on a hot dog! They must be eaten with Stadium mustard...though they're not bad with coleslaw and onions (picked that up in North Carolina, and they do know pork up there). :D

Red wine, red wine, for me the same as AdGuy says, and I always have shaved parm or romano cheese on ANY pasta whether I have fish no fish meat no meat, I even put it on my mussels in sauce! I always have to request it at Posada Margherita, they do not put it reguarly on the table.
