Does anyone have a direct e-mail for Cabana's Tulum?

We're set!!!!!!!!! Passports arrived today!! We then made the flight reservations, at a good price. Would have used our United miles, but their restrictions are a joke and by the time we calculated, it was cheaper to not use the miles (or United, which is no great loss).
I was also able to sneak in an extra day! So far, no one has even noticed! LOL!!!!!!!

We'll arrive in Tulum on 11-14 and will check out the Mezzanine beach party (or any other party for that matter) on that Friday! We'll buy the first round!

Hey Fitz, what airline are you flying? Seems like airline prices are pretty high, so just wondering where you found the deal!

Thanks Doug for the quick reply with the info!
Phyllis-We're flying with USAir and booked today through Cheap Air. Out of Chicago, one stop, 5.5 hour flight, arrive/leave in the afternoon-for 385.00. Beats the 6 something United wanted.
Now that I saved us some cash or miles, (depending on how you look at it), I can up the grade of tequila we drink on the trip! I love the way I budget!
So far I slid in an extra day in Mexico and NO ONE has noticed, not even my boss! AND I still have about 40,000 miles that have to be used by June!!
This budget trip is getting better and better!
Did I mention I found 1000 pesos from the last trip in my snorkel bag?????!!!!!!!
AND I can still fit into my swim suit from last year!!!!

Can't tell I'm getting excited, can you??

Holy cow you're on a roll! I bet it felt awesome to find the pesos!!!!! I think I'm going to find a cash exchange in the city before we go - probably won't get a good exchange rate, but might just do a little bit so we have some pesos to start out down there.

I didn't find any good deals for our travel dates, which sucks. Maybe because we're flying close to the Veterans day holiday? I dunno, but I've been really annoyed not to find a good deal!

I had a lot of trouble getting a response from Cabanas Tulum directly.

I ended up making reservations through Juan at yucatantravel.com. You can send an inquiry from the website or email him at jop@yucatantravel.com.

One disclaimer: I haven't actually gone yet but Juan has been very good via email, and others here have worked successfully with him.

Tequila Herradura Anejo
Tequila Reserva 1800 Reposado
Tequila Cazadores AnejoAll three are 100% agave, aged, smooth, and widely available. These are the sipping kinda that should never go any where near a blender! :D

You know guys, I love Patron Silver but didn't find it available last time I was south of the border. Perhaps I didn't look hard enough. Has anyone noticed it before?

Hey Doug,
We were looking for it too all over Tulum and couldn't find it anywhere.

Thanks Tracee, I thought I just didn't look in the right places. I looked at a few of the tourist shopping areas in Cancun including the airport duty free shop and guess what? Nada. Perhaps Patron is not distributed in Mexico.

In a taste testing at the Tequila Barrel in...dare I admit it...Playa del Carmen, we actually preferred #1. We tend to like aged, oaked deep red wines and tequilas, so that might explain our priority over a Reposado.

The good news is the joy is in the discovery! After a few glasses you'll be luvin' just about anything you pour!!!

Doug,

Your assignment for next time is Covi in Playa del Carmen (it's on the right side of Highway 307...I think at Constituyentes as you pass through the city). They have an incredible selection at pretty good prices! :)
